    1. Motha.

Few fishes are called by the name Motha.

Actual motha, also called urulan motha is actually cobia. This is the most tastiest and in demand among all

Mahi mahi, or dolphin fish is called motha is markets. This fish is also know by the name 'chain cover' due to its shape

We also have swordfish, which is sold as motha. The huge piece of round meat you find in the market which is sold, is of swordfish. This is mostly the fish, that is served at the restaurants, as the fish is pretty cheap and completly tasteless ( my personal opinion).

    1. Not really sure..but its also called pullan at certain places. Carp like looking silver fish…in english its Labeo dussumier (scientific name) known as labeo or grass carp..which am not sure of

    1. Usually we have few types of chempally in kerala.

In alleppy climbing perch is called by the name chempally

We also have mangrove jack which is again called as chempally

Red snapper is also chemppaly from the sea.

In waynad and norther kerala, a type of carp (like rohu, kuyil etc) are also called by the same name "Chempally".
